Mother’s Day- for Grandma too?

This has been a hot topic on local mom blogs all week. What do you do to acknowledge the day if you do?

Absolutely, we celebrate ALL mothers in our family. Especially the GRANDmothers!

I go to my nana’s house every Sunday for brunch, so I’ll do the same tomorrow and just bring presents for my nana and mom from my kids and I.

Ofc we celebrate the grandmothers. Why wouldn't we? I don't get to be any less of a mom if we celebrate them too. It is just such a selfish way of thinking.

My family has always had a big cookout to celebrate all of the moms. My grandma is like the alpha mom lol. I get her a card and a small gift. I get give my mom a little more because she’s “my mom” but I do acknowledge my grandmother and my boyfriends mom and grandmother as well.

My mom will always see me on Mother’s Day.. she will always get gifts from me and from my kids.. she is the rock of our family and she will always get celebrated.. same with my boyfriends mom.. we just went together to go get their gifts.. grandmothers are mothers too..

She's my mom, so yeah. However, she's working and we live 3 hours apart so not celebrating with her.

We actually like our family and like spending time with them lol We go out for lunch with my in laws and order in and have supper with my parents. Even great grandma is included. I work a typical 8-4 M-F and have most weekends to just be home and not celebrate anything except waking up that morning lol I also know I’d give almost anything to spend a day…even a meal…with my grandmothers who passed away. My husband and kids got me some gifts and I slept in until 9:30 this morning. Sleeping in, not having to cook or clean all day and no one in my house much to mess it all up? Sign me up for the visiting lol

We always have a big cookout with my household, my parents’ household, and my grandparents. My husband’s mother is out of the picture and his grandmother is with his mother on Mother’s Day, so his grandma gets a separate visit.
