Following people on Facebook ???

What are reasons that you would “follow” someone on Facebook but not add them as a friend ??

I was looking at my bf’s Facebook and I looked at the people he follows, and it’s mostly businesses but there are some girls on there. And I noticed he “followed” a new girl yesterday.

I don’t “follow” anyone. I add them as friends. I don’t know what the difference is.

I went to the girls page and you can add her as a friend.

Does anyone know what the difference is and why you would follow someone ???
