Advice for my son’s birthday
My son is turning 2 in a few weeks. His birthday is on a Friday, and I’m trying to figure out when to have extended family over. My in laws live 1.5 hours away so they can’t come over Friday night. I’m pregnant in my 3rd trimester so I’m trying to not stress myself out and it’s a lot for me to host them but my husband is saying we need to see them for his birthday at some point. They also are giving him nice presents and I want them to watch him open them. I would typically also invite my sister and her family and my dad and his partner but I’m worried that it’ll be too stressful for me and that our house isn’t big enough. It’s been 95degrees + so we’d be stuck inside. I don’t really want to rent out a room in a restaurant bc it’s too expensive and then it’d turn into a big production.
I wanted to go to a children’s museum the next day (Saturday) but that leaves only Sunday to host them, and I worry that’s too much for one weekend. Should I have them over the Saturday after? Or maybe we should do the museum Sunday and invite them over Saturday?
I have a habit of over scheduling guests and just want to also be able to enjoy his birthday with him as his mom.
