Dr. Vitiello was very cold and insensitive during the first appt my fiance and I had with her. She had me cancel a long standing appt for a procedure that wouldve possibly cleared any obstructions in my fallopian tubes because she insisted I lose a whole 100lbs before she even looked at me. She also ordered a whole panel of blood work that she NEVER called me to discuss. Still to this day I don't know what the work up reported. Our first appt with her felt like an interrogation with questions on what my fiance and I do for work rather than my PCOS. The whole thing was very strange and I wish I could give a better review of her but the fact of the matter is, I wouldn't send my worst enemy to her.

I’m glad I had another person, my aunt with me for my initial consultation. She spoke very quickly and has a very dry personality. I had a hard time understanding her, and I felt like I was being interrogated under her watchful eye. She told me she wouldn’t take a penny from me for IUI, due to my age (just turned 38) and to go to IVF as soon as I got the blood tests and HSG done. Then she sent me to meet her “assistant” the whole thing was an IVF speal. I got tests all done in 2 months time and I will go back for a FU in a week or so, honestly because it costs me hundreds of dollars to see another RE. I’m really hoping she can look over my tests and discuss IUI with me this meeting as I wanted to the last meeting. I’m just not ready for IVF yet as I told her. I hope she can listen to me the next meeting.

I met with the doctor twice, the first meeting she said let’s do some IUI’s the second she told me I was perfect and let’s start.

From our first appointment, Dr. Vitiello was very helpful and understood our case very well. She also really respected our family's values and provided care that accommodated them; whenever she offered us options, she would draw us diagrams and give good analogies to make sure we understood well, she would also give us the pros and cons, and explain what it meant for the values we had shared up front. One of my favorite things about her was her wry humour - though I can see how that might not be appreciated by everyone. She also proceeded very cautiously on our case, which was frustrating sometimes because we just wanted a baby asap, but in hindsight I really appreciate her cautious approach because it was clearly informed by a good understanding of our case and lots of past experience. The thing I liked least was that the practice as a whole uses an impersonal online portal for reporting results, so I didn't always get to talk to Dr. Vitiello immediately to follow up on the results and get a complete picture of what that meant going forward. The nurses were really great too, and I'm grateful to say that we ended up with the results we'd hoped for. So we are eternally grateful to Dr. V and the FCNE.
