Eloping?

I was wondering how you gals and guys feel on the topic of ‘eloping’. I would love to just go away on my wedding/honeymoon all in one with my partner, however he is against the idea and would like his family there.
Are yous for eloping?
Any anyone eloped?
Pictures of your “elope” wedding?
Reasons to for and against?
I really just want to see what everyone else thinks!

I didn't elope, but there were people in my family who decided to change things the day of my wedding without my consent... so knowing that, if I were to ever get married again then I would elope.

My fiance and I are eloping next month. we don't have the funds or time to plan a big ceremony right now but we don't want to just go down to the courthouse so we're going to file for a marriage certificate and then do a very tiny private ceremony with a friend who is ordained and it's going to be him, me, my son, the friend who is marrying us, my two best friends, and his two best friends. we're not planning on telling anyone else or our families until after. we do plan on having a big ceremony later just right now it's not a feasible thing

I really want a wedding. I love the idea of celebrating with family and friends which I find is the biggest part of weddings- sharing and expressing your love and commitment with those that have impacted your life. To me eloping just defeats the purpose of that and is more like hiding the fact that you’re making this choice. Also my mum and I have been planning my wedding since I was little (just for fun really) and I know it’s something she’s really looking forward to doing with me. My dad would be heartbroken if he didn’t get to walk me down the aisle as well. It might cut back all costs and all the planning (and for some people eloping is what they want and is best for them) but it’d take a lot of the fun out of the wedding in my opinion and hurt a lot of people who I love. It’s not for me.

I didn't technically elope, because it wasn't just us two, but we did have a very small wedding with only my mom, my oldest sister, and my other sister and her husband/kids. We did it at my favorite place, Suttle Lake in Oregon, and it was perfect for me since I don't like big crowds and attention on me!

We plan on eloping, him, a pastor, a photographer, one other witness  (because you need two) and me in the woods. My family is kind of messed up and we don't have a bunch of money, so it'll save me from having a breakdown.

I'm considering Eloping whenever the times come for us 💍🙏 He wasn't against it but I think he wants his family members there , I do as well , Just my Nephews Our children and Boyfriend nieces and nephews ...Kids honestly I can careless about who wants to join or not
