Pregnant without actual partner?

Question

So, here's the deal. I'm almost 30, just got screwed over in another relationship. I'm really tired and I really don't feel like getting involved again as it will probably end up the same, again.
But, my maternity instinct is still awake despite my relationship need being dead.
What do you think about TTC without actual relationship? Not that it's our role here to judge ;) just want to know what everyone is thinking about it.

I don't see anything wrong with it. As long as you are able to financially provide for the child and love them I say go for it!!!

I think it's a great idea especially if you have relationships issues. A few of my mothers friends conceived with out a partner. And they are happy individuals and it is also a perk to them they don't have to share their children

exactly! Thank you! why in 21st century we still do think, that I need a relationship, doesn't actually matter if I'm happy, if he/she's good to me....i need a partner to be pregnant and have a baby. That's ridiculous!

It's entirely up to you! No one can tell you the right or wrong answer. I had a partner when I was pregnant and he turned out to be a bigger baby than the baby! We split and it was tough on my own but I got there, would have been great to have someone to share it with both good times and the bad! Fast forward and have now found my perfect partner and we are ttc I know this time I will have the love and support I wished for last time. Plus I also have one very excited hopefully to be big brother! You never know which way your life is going to go, I swore I would never have another relationship nor let alone another child! But here I am in our little happiness bubble looking to expand our little family! You will know deep down what's right for you, then grab on and go for it! Good luck!

I think it is conpletely fine! People need to quit thinking that a woman needs a man/other woman to raise a baby. If you are secure, stable, and ready, there is absolutely no problem!

I wouldn't. Raising a child alone is hard. I became single after a long, unhappy relationship at 31. I spent the next year working on myself and enjoying life. I then met my husband and we had our first child when I was 34. I couldn't imagine doing this without him. We're now trying for a second child.

I don't think it's a good idea.... Sorry. The man has although the right to know that you are TTC. He could become a father..... It seems very easy to TTC 'alone' just as an egoistic person. ... Sorry. Pregnancy, birth and childcare is a very exhausting thing. You'll NEED ANY support you can get..... If you do it alone: you aren't able to ask anybody what he thinks about any decision you have to make..... You'll be responsible for your child 24 hours a day, 7 days per week, 52 weeks per year - without any break..... You can't imagine HOW exhausting it'll be to do this alone..... In the beginning you'll get nearly no sleep - for weeks or month.... You'll be responsible for your money income alone.... How do you handle if your child is sometimes ill??? Imagine by now: don't sleep 3 days in a row ( maybe just 2-3 hours sleep per night) and do all your work - interrupted every 20 minutes for 20 minutes..... You can't even go to the toilett without your Baby sometimes...... Better search for a man who loves you!

Unless you plan on using donor sperm, I think it's a *really* horrible idea to be TTC without a partner. You don't want to get pregnant by a casual relationship and then be stuck together in some sense for the rest of your life. And if he takes you for custody, you'll likely end up with 50/50 (in a progressive area) or some type of shared custody. I would want to make that life for a child! My husband has a son from a previous relationship and it's tough for a kiddo, even tougher for a kiddo that was only planned by one parent. I cannot even begin to explain how stressful family court is.

I get the being hurt and not wanting a relationship, but TTC isn't just about your biological clock, it's about bring another human into your life that will be dramatically impacted by your life choices.

I would either go the donor route or look into foster care, and honestly, see a therapist before making a decision like this.
