Incompatible sex desires?

So my partner and I have been having sex for 5 years now, dating for almost 2.  We're very open and vocal with our wants and needs. I like to have crazy, wild sex. Toys, biting, role play, etc. anything crazy and fun I'm willing to try! But him on the other hand likes to keep it vanilla. Frankly, I'm bored and I've told him many times that I am and have suggested many things to fix it. He says he'll try some things and no to some others of course. But we never end up doing any of it. It always ends up just being vanilla sex, not even any foreplay. I love him, but I'm getting tired of him basically not fulfilling my wants and needs. Has anyone else had a similar problem with a guy and has a way to maybe fix this?
