there's no need to put anything in your vagina for masturbation (I rarely do an I've even successfully masturbating almost every night for about 2 years now). stimulate your clitoris and maybe watch some porn? porn isn't a great way to learn about sex (it is far from realistic) but it could give you some stuff to try to make yourself feel good (there's a lot of solo female stuff out there if you want to "research" that way). back an forth, circles, direct or indirect stimulus, every person is different and it just depends on what makes you feel best!

Don't stick anything in you. Not everyone can come from penatration anyway so if you can't it's fine. Feel around and find your clit.
