Space

My boyfriend woke up this morning and decided he needed a break. A couple a months ago he began saying how much he loves me and wants to be with me forever, and create a family. Recently his parents thought they were losing him so they sat him down and had a conversation about it which turned into him ending things with me so he could be his own person. It's completely out of character and he said he'll speak with me but has not reached out. I'm just devasted and heart broken with the whole situation. Do I wait or do I move forward?
