Not sure where to post this to be honest.

My friend had her baby 8 days ago. She insists on waking him up every 3 hours to feed him. When I said let him sleep and he'll wake when he's hungry she got really grumpy with me and stopped talking to me.

I always thought you should let babies sleep and that they will wake when they're hungry but she is adamant the midwife told her that she had to wake him up every 3 hours regardless. Is this true? Is it just in different areas? I know I don't have children on my own (were working on that though! 😉) but I was there for all of my nephews and niece and my God children and they were never woken up for a feed unless it had been like 5 hours and they were going out somewhere so easier to feed before they went out. I am supporting her decisions and helping her when I can and it was just an innocent comment which she has taken majorly hard and I get that it's gonna be her hormones but just wondering what the advice is for this.
