Losing Virginity and bleeding...

I recently lost my virginity and didn't bleed during it but I know my hymen broke, I have my period now, about a week and a half after and it's on schedule like normal but abnormally heavy, could it have anything to do with popping my cherry or is it just a weird coincidence it just happened to be heavy the month I lost my virginity? Did this happen to anyone else, because I know having sex for the first time can alter your period
