Home remedies for yeast infections?

Pretty sure I'm experiencing my first yeast infection. Anyone have any tips and home remedies?

To add to Katie's comment, getting it checked by a doctor is the quickest way to go. I've been to planned parenthood, and they'll test and prescribe as necessary. I should mention if you're not insured the visit is usually free with the option of a free will donation.

If you decide a doctors visit is not for you, immediately cut your diet of any sugar and yeast (there's usually good dietary lists online if you look). Eliminating these things will starve the yeast and in turn the infection. Eat plain Greek yoghurt (no sugar!) like crazy and routinely take probiotic pills with live active cultures. (Found in the refrigerated section at any health food store).  If you use apple cider vinegar be sure to dilute it. Apv straight could cause irritation or even chemical burn (straight garlic too). Apv and baking powder diluted in a bathtub is a great way to ease symptoms and balance your ph levels down yonder.

Wash it with apple cider vinegar to relieve the itch. One of my friends soaked a tampon in vinegar and garlic it and put it in. She said she felt better a day later. Eat lots of garlic and yogurt

Definitely see your doc if this is your first time experiencing these symptoms! In several studies, it was shown that MORE THAN 50% of women were inaccurate in self-diagnosing themselves with common gynecological infections! More than half of the time, what women thought was a yeast infection was actually bacterial vaginosis (THE most common gynecological infection among women of childbearing age) and vice versa. Your doc will put the cells on a slide and look at them under a microscope to be sure.

Get an over the counter kit. I prefer the ones with a pill...I find they work better and are worth the extra money. Drinking cranberry juice sometimes helps too but don't just go for home remedies. It's  not worth the discomfort.

Also, if it is a yeast infection, you need an OTC anti fungal to eliminate the candida. The infections are nothing to mess around with! Good luck!

natural yoghurt ... warm cloth .... then as soon as you can buy some canesten hydrocortisone cream and oral tablets x
