late on my period!?

So me and my bf have been having unprotected sex for about a year. We have used condoms a few time but we tend not to use them. He has never ever finished inside me but I'm now late on my period and I'm just scared. There's no way it's possible right? I have been late once or twice before but I'm just scared. I have told him though that we're using protection from now because I can't deal with being scared every month.
