Bf all of a sudden is using condoms, why does this mean?

So my boyfriend and I who've been together for 2months, nearly 3. Has just decided to randomly use condoms. At the beginning of our relationship he insisted I get on birth control, which I just started. We had sex today and he pulls out a condom. When I question why he says "I have my reasons," and continues to put I on. This is suspicious to me because we never really used condoms. Occasionally we did so that there's less of a mess but majority of the time we relied on the pull out method. I believe he could've started using them because of a little scare we had, but I took plan B, and received a BFN on a pregnancy test I took at my gyno. 
Does anyone have any idea as to what this means? Also please don't mention anything about our preferred method of safe sex.

It means he is trying to prevent pregnancy.

He probably read a few stories somewhere about women lying about BC and trying to trick guys into getting pregnant. Not saying that's what you are doing...but I applaud the fact that he is taking birth control into his own hands, most guys just rely on the female.

Also I don't care that you said don't mention it...the pull out method isn't a safe form of birth control. Perhaps he researched that and wisened up as to the fact that he would probably end up a father before he was ready if he kept doing it.

I think the best answer you will get for this question is from him, not us. We have no idea why he's doing that. I personally would not accept an answer of "I have my reasons"... That doesn't sound like a very communicative relationship to me. If you really want to know what's going on, I would try to speak with him (not during sex). Good luck hun.

Honestly he probably talked to one of his buddies and they most likely told him he's stupid for not wearing a condom (whether your on birth control or not), and now he is using condoms. Unless you want a baby, I don't see why you'd be upset. Birth control is not fool proof and two forms of birth control (so pills and condom) is always recommended. I doubt he cheated because that wouldn't cause him to start using condoms with you unless he knew he caught something which he wouldn't know yet as it sounds like you're saying this only started a couple weeks ago.

I am not trying to be alarmist, but there is also a small probability that he cheated and is dumb enough to pretend you would not get the intuition he did something wrong. 
But if everything is alright, he is just probably extra careful to avoid 1+1=3

All signs point him trying to prevent pregnancy. Especially if you have already had a scare. You haven't been together that long so kudos to him for taking action. He's a guy. Some guys don't want kids with women they haven't been with for that long.

He's probably just trying to prevent a pregnancy? I'm not saying you're like this but I know plenty of women that have intentionally got pregnant when there partner is completely unaware that they're not on birth control. When my son is old enough I'll be telling him 'always use a condom, not only to prevent STD's but also pregnancies - regardless of what the woman says'.

You're on birth control so no ones going to judge you for him pulling out? He might  just want to be extra safe especially since you had a scare, and theres also protection against and diseases
