advice?

Okay so this might sound like a Stupid problem but there is this guy I like and he liked me but 2 days after he told my sister he liked me he got a girlfriend. So idk if he really likes me when I told him I liked him he said "I wish I would have known before I got a gf" ig I just don't know what to do bc I really like him but idk if he likes me that much since he just got a gf Idk if I should tell him I like him or wait and idk how I should tell him I like him without ruining our friendship or making it awkward
