Long distance relationship problems

My boyfriend of a year is in the military and he was put in Italy. And with the 9 hour time difference it's been difficult to communicate with him. For a couple of weeks now he's been a bit more distant. We rarely text. He says he will call or Skype me but never does. When I try to send him something sexy, he doesn't get excited like he used to. I haven't had a real conversationwith him for awhile and I feel like our relationship isn't going to last like this and I don't really know what to do. He says he loves me still but like, I don't know. How can I fix this maybe? Or is this just going to lead to us breaking up?
