What should I do?

My boyfriend is always playing on his PlayStation. I don't really mind, except when I text with him he is always playing. So we never have a real conversation and I'm just sitting there waiting for him to text something (feeling like a desperate girlfriend). And sometimes after awhile he's just like "hey the games getting intense, can I text you later?" I'm like yeah sure, why not. Well then like five hours later he still hadn't texted me, but he's been online multiple times. I don't know what to do. Am I just acting like a desperate girlfriend that want attention?
