Is Getting Tattoos Right If You're Christian?

PLEASE READ BEFORE COMMENTING... Ok so a few weeks back I posted a poll on whether or not its right to get a tattoo if you are Christian. People have their opinions and I respect every single opinion. Some people say if you judge gay people then no you shouldn't get a tattoo. But I have gay friends and I have nothing against gay people, I enjoy hanging around them as much as a straight person. I cannot judge them. People also it all depends on the tattoo. So for me Ive really been wanting a tattoo that represents God, nothing crazy or anything evil. I wanted a cross on my wrist and the word BLESSED going down my forearm. Please let me know your guys' opinion because I'd really like to know what you guys think about a strong believer in Christ getting a tattoo?!.

The Bible mentions ratios once, and that was in relation to the Israelites, to keep them separate from the other tribes who used to tattoo themselves with names of their false gods. 
Christians today are not bound under the law of the Israelites, however, that scripture still has a principle for Christians today and that's what should help us to make the right decision.
The Bible says we should present our bodies a temple to God and that we should be holy. This means that smoking and doing drugs is wrong, and anything else that purposely destroys our body.
Personally I would reason that a tattoo is ruining my body as well, essentially cutting my body and being a permanent mark. 
And I'd also think about the reason behind wanting a tattoo. U said u want to put a cross and the word blessed. Do you really need a reminder that Jesus died for your sins? Do you need a reminder that you're blessed? In other words, is it a good enough reason to cut your holy body? Do you honestly, without a doubt believe in yourself that God will be pleased about you doing that to your body regardless of the design you choose? 
If the answer is yes to the last question then go ahead. In the end, your conscience will do its job. Good luck 💜

I'm a born-again Christian and two weeks after my baptismal I actually got a tattoo lol and also several young people in my church have tattoos so I say no it's not a sin it's only those really hard-core Christians who thinks is a sin in the Old Testament it was talking about living under the law so people couldn't even get earrings or any markings on their skin because they would burn in hell for it but that's why Jesus died for all of our sins

Do YOU want a tattoo? Then get a tattoo!!! This is your life and you just get one, don't base your choices off of anything but what will make you happy

I thinks it's fine! It mentions in the Bible not to get a tattoo in remembrance of the dead but I think what you want is fine! I'm wanting one that has John 13:7 written under a cross, not to remind me Jesus does for my sins I know that, but to remind me that I'm not always going understand why I'm going through what I'm going through in life, but it's for a reason. People need to be reminded of that and I think yours would look great! It's good to be reminded to stay humble, to be reminded every single day that you ARE blessed, and not to take things for granted.

My husband is an amazing Christian. We are youth leaders for our church, handle Christmas Eve services and others and he has two tattoos. A celtic cross and gods hands with light coming out of them.  We plan to get a tattoo together in honor of our miscarriage and I plan to get a Christian tattoo I'm designing myself after this pregnancy. To me it's a matter of James 4:12, there is one judge and lawmaker. My body is my temple so I do not introduce drugs or negative things to it. But I do not think tattoos are inherently evil.

In my situation, I use to be really depressed, and then I found God again. He literally changed my whole life and flipped it. But.. I have scars that remind me of when I was depressed, had no self worth, hated myself and didn’t want to be alive anymore. 
The verses in the Bible that say not to cut your body, to treat it as a temple, I have already broken from cutting. I’m different now, and I’ve already apologized to God and myself. I still hate looking at the scars, I have to wear long sleeves because it shames me. Everytime I look at my arm I’m reminded, I’m not only embarrassed for others to see my scars, but it brings me back to why they where put there.  
I wanted to get a tattoo of a cross to cover my scars, and a verse under it. For me, getting a tattoo of a cross would replace the feeling of remembrance of my pain and depression every-time I look at my arm, and instead I would remember Jesus saving me. I wouldn’t be embarrassed to wear short sleeves anymore either. 
For me, a tattoo would not just be something cool or something for me to express an “artsy side.” It would be taking away my remembrance of hurting myself, and exactly who it was that saved me. 
Im honestly not sure if the reason why getting a tattoo matters to God or justifies doing it, I would honestly love to know.

When God created us he gave us the blessing of choice. Its your choice if you get a tattoo or not. Don't let others influence you either though. Do what you want to your body because you have that choice.
