advice on freshman year?

So I'm going to school in 8 days and it's gonna be my freshman year of high school. It's a new school so everyone is a new student and I'm nervous about the whole situation. I really want some advice on how to survive freshman year, cope with the stress and maybe make some new friends? Everyone told me that everyone being a new student is benefit but I feel that no one would be interested in being my friend. Help? :)

Freshman year for me was actually pretty decent. Yes, it can be a scary transition but it really isn't bad. The work may be difficult so I suggest you stay on top of your grades,  study, and get familiar with your teacher(s). If you're feeling overwhelmed with schoolwork, relax, it's okay to take a break because your mental health is more important than a grade. When it comes to making friends, try to put yourself out there. If sports or clubs is your thing, don't hesitate to join because that's most likely where you'll meet friends. Definitely be nice to people and open to meeting different kinds of people. Most importantly try to be social, don't stress too much, and don't try to act like someone your aren't.

I was a new student to my high school too and as a freshman I think it's definitely the easiest year of high school if you can just cruise it through right. Don't stress yourself out but also make sure your grades are good and join lots of clubs. No matter how different you think you might be there are tons of clubs with people who'd love to be your friend. I was in so many clubs (band, art, anime, literature, etc.) and that's where I made ALL of my friends. I'm very shy but there are always upperclassman that are going to be there to make sure you feel comfortable and will make sure that you never feel alone. So when in doubt just look for seniors or juniors that will take you under your wing.

you'll meet so many new people!!! it's a fresh start so make it what you want. boy drama isn't needed so honestly just don't bother, bc they're immature at this time anyway. just be true to who you are and have confidence in that!

Show school spirt it may seem dumb but I guarantee that you will be liked by everyone especially the upperclassman if you do.

I'm going to be a junior in high school so here are some of my tips in no specific order!!
1.) Do not run to class- everyone will judge you if you do, most teachers give a "grace period" especially to freshman on the first few days because they don't know where they're going
2.) don't stop in the middle of the hallways- this pisses me off, don't block the hallways people are trying to get through!!
3.) to make friends join clubs/ sports- chances are you'll probably have something in common with them be if you don't want to do that try complementing the person sitting next to you.  
4.) find what helps you to destress-whether it be working out, cooking, drawing, watching TV, doing makeup etc. find a healthy outlet 
5.) don't use your phone during class- my chemistry teacher would lecture us about this. Keep your phone in your backpack once class starts because once you see that notification, you're going to start thinking about that Instagram post and stop thinking about how to properly balance an equation 
6.) don't be afraid to ask for help- it took me awhile to get comfortable raising my hand in class and asking a question, but if you're not comfortable asking in front of the class then ask someone who understands or the teacher before/after school or during lunch 
7.) get involved- go to sporting event, school dances, and participate in spirit week. They are so much fun to do and you make great memories (homecoming week is my favorite time of the whole year because it's each grade against each other)

I'm going to high school for the first time next year too!! I'm really lucky because my best friend and I have all the same classes except electives. For electives, that's where I'll try to make some friends, but I'm hoping it won't be too hard because we all have the same interests. I'm more worried about the schoolwork!
