Demoted from fiancé to girlfriend

I need some input ladies

Just recently I have been trying to wrap my head around why I have gone from fiancé to girlfriend

There was a bad fight where I almost ended up packing and leaving but something just wouldn't let me go through that door

My family was happily packing all of my stuff without any hesitation

My partner told me that I'd only be his gf if we stayed together at the time I was just so hurt and devastated of the thought of leaving him here he is telling me I've practically been demoted

We have a 1 year old son together

Please help me get some insight on this
