Antibiotics interfering with birth control ??

So I'm taking some antibiotics for my uti I just got ..and I had unprotected sex 2 or 3 days before...he never came in me but I'm scared he didn't clean well before we started another round. Will the antibiotics make my birth control ineffective and would I ever become pregnant? ..

It's more of a controversy. 
There are only two known antibiotics to effect birth control and they don't prescribe them often. Studies were going on during the 1970s and were disclosed after some time. Why? No one knows. Common everyday use antibiotics shouldn't interfere with birth control. Some doctors say they do, some say they don't. Some say they don't know. That's because we really don't know, they stopped the studies. 
It really just comes down to you. Wether or not you want to take the chance or use extra protection. 
I was on amoxicillin for a week while on birth control and had unprotected sex several times and I was covered. Everyone is different though

It does have a effect on birth control but if you had sex while you were getting treated for a UTI and then you go back and have sex with him again, you could be giving yourself a UTI all over again. Then the antibiotics is really really going to mess up your birth control

Yes!!!! Antibiotics make BC ineffective!! use a condom for the next couple of weeks. My doctor neglected to tell me this, but LUCKILY, my sister is a doctor as well and told me before anything manor happened. Be safe!!

certain antibiotics can screw with birth control! One of my friends was on the shot and got sick had antibiotics perscribed to her and she had sex within that time span and now she has a beautiful almost four month old. Always ask the doctor if the medicine they are perscribing you will interfere with the birthcontral ... just so you know to use extra protection in that time frame.
