Lost my virginity last night... Is this type of pain normal?

I'm 19 and just lost my virginity to my boyfriend last night. He fingered me and ate me out a lot so I'm pretty sure I was wet enough, so dryness wasn't the issue. For some background, I'm a pretty tiny person (with a tiny vagina) and he has an average dick size. I'm guessing my hymen was already broken bc I didn't bleed and didn't feel any pain in that area. I know losing your virginity can be painful but I always figured the pain from your first time came from the girth of the guy inside of you. That wasn't the kind of pain I was feeling though, it only actually hurt when he thrust really deep inside me. We had sex again this morning when we woke up so I was hoping things would be a little less painful, but again, I only really experienced pain the deeper he got.
