Are head wraps in the workforce unprofessional?

Do you consider head wraps in the workforce unprofessional?

Keep in mind that head wraps are NOT the same as durags, bonnets or scarves used when sleeping. They come in a variety of colors, patterns and styles and can be worn in a variety of ways.

My coworker wore her head wrap to work today, it was solid black, & my manager told her that she probably shouldn’t wear it again to work because it can be seen as “unprofessional.” For context I work at a grocery store.
