Boyfriend break

Me and my boyfriend have been together for 6 months on the 26th of January. I’m really clingy because I have no one else but him really apart from a few friends. He wants a break (I think it’s because I’m too clingy and I never stop messaging him) he broke up with me and said he just needs some time.. even thou we still text but just like friends. I love him so much and it’s hard for me because he’s the only close person to me and he means so much. What can help me in this situation?😞🤷🏼‍♀️
