Get together with my co-worker?

So ive dated 2 other coworkers in the past and I still work with one of them. it's not awkward after the break up. This guy Nick and I flirt constantly at work and I'm really digging him. there is a 2 year age gap, 17 and 19. but that's fine. We talk on Snapchat all the time till like 1 in the morning. He's an amazing guy and we connect but people have told me to not date my coworker causing me to question if I should or not. What do you guys think?
