Serious question

So I had sex with my bf and I was on my period at the time but I also put the implant fitting the previous day and I was still on my period when I did it. The condom broke and he finished inside me. Does that mean that I might be pregnant or did the implant fitting work straight away?

The doctor said to me that it will work after 6 days but a friend told me that if you insert the implant fitting during your periods it works straight away. I don’t know who to believe now..?!
