All guys are dumb

I had a huge crush on a guy for like two years and we were really good friends until he told me we couldn't talk anymore because he got a girlfriend. about a year later, in a moment of weakness l messaged him and he shot me down pretty quickly. Recently he has been messaging me a lot. just small talk, but it's kinda hard for me not to keep talking to him, even though I know I shouldn't. When I talked to him before I made it very clear that I couldn't talk to him without wanting more than friendship, so talking to me now seems kinda suspicious. And he still has a girlfriend! idk what he's playing at. Advice plz
