Asking my mom for birth control?

I'm 19 and I've just lost my virginity last month. everytime me and my boyfriend do it vaginally he uses a condom. but yesterday he decided he wanted to do some anal without wearing a condom (I didn't notice) and it hurt so I didn't really let him go deep at all when he came I felt it and I instantly freaked out and it was mostly in my butthole region. he took a napkin and wiped it upwards away from my vag. and then I went to the bathroom and peed and carefully washed it out.

I get my period in 10 days and it's such an anticipation 😖

Anyways, I think it should be a good idea to get on birth control now because my boyfriend is being sloppy and irresponsible and I don't want to have to suffer the consequences... is that reasonable? is that a good reason that I should ask my mom?
