Do you parents let your SO sleep over?

Hey girls! So I’m a 17 year old girl and my boyfriend and I have been dating for 9 months. We hang out all the time but my parents are super uncomfortable with the idea of me sleeping over at his house or him sleeping at mine, even in separate rooms. How can I change their minds? I always love taking naps at his house snuggled with him, so I only imagine spending the night with him would be even better (: pls help!

Well technically as long as you’re living at your parents house, their house their rules and you should respect it. But that doesn’t mean you can’t talk to them about being more independent with your boyfriend, such as spending more time at HIS house if his parents allow it as well and you respect their rules too. Breaking their rules and sneaking him in isn’t going to help anyone either, in fact, it will make you even less trustworthy. From my knowledge, most parents don’t allow that because they think you’ll have sex. And whether that’s a taboo in your household or they just don’t want you to get pregnant or have sex in their house period, is their decision. But sitting your parents down and having a mature conversation with them about it is worth a shot. Even if they refuse, if you show maturity and respect they’ll see it. And if everything doesn’t work out, then just wait until you’re out of their house or something.

For awhile my bf lived with me and then got kicked for reasons I don’t need to get into, but it was still really hard to convince my parents to let him sleep in the same bed as me let alone live here. I just told them I’m almost an adult, I can make my own mature decisions and if I mess up then I’ll live with the consequences of my actions.

me and my boyfriend have been dating for almost 3 years i’m 17 and he’s 18. Both of his parents never had a problem with us having sleepovers. My parents were against it but one night he was at a party and asked if he could stay the night i begged my mom and she finally agreed as long as he’s on the couch. Now my parents don’t care about us having sleep overs as long as he’s on the couch or if i have another friend staying over with us. My dad says “we should be worried about what their doing while awake not what their doing in bed asleep”

My boyfriend and i were long distance for a whole year and he could only come on weekends so my parents let him come and stay the whole weekend and sleep on our couch!!!

My parents never had a problem with my bf sleeping at our house. they like him a lot and it‘s totally okay for them that he‘s staying over multiple times a week. my family is used to having him around and they are quite happy bout it cause they see how happy I am when he‘s there. Also he never had to sleep on the couch or with my door open, they trust me and the only thing they want is that I’m comfortable with him. I‘m turning 17 and my boyfriend is 20 & i understand that you wanna sleep next to your bf- it‘s the best feeling in the world!

My dad used to let my then bf sleep over when I was 16 & he was 17. (I’m nearly 19 now). We never did anything until towards the end of the relationship, but looking back if I was the parent I would’ve never allowed it. I think he just didn’t want to fight with angsty teenage me at the time 😂.
