What do you do when your period starts?

Question

I normally take something then take a hot shower until it kicks in. I would take a bath but I don’t have a bathtub! What do you guys normally do?

I just put on a pad and carry on with my day.

I usually just text my boyfriend and say “well, my period starts. No sex for a few days 😜” just so he knows lol. Period sex grosses me out so I tend to stay away from it. 
If I’m at home the I’ll make some hot tea and then throw my good panties to the back of the drawer so I don’t accidentally grab a pair.
