Had our 12 week ultrasound today and am worried, distressed, confused (you name it). My regular doctor went on vacation and I had someone today who didn’t really have very good bedside manner ..... or very good English (I live international). Anyway, long story short, ultrasound reveals possibility of fetal abnormality in the brain indicating possible “chronic disease” (whatever that means as she couldn’t explain at all). When I asked her if we should be worried, she said that it’s not normal. Then I started bawling and she then seemed confused by my reaction. She said to come back in two weeks for another ultrasound, but that she’s 90% sure things will be fine, even though she started talking about amniocentesis already. I now have to go back in two weeks for another ultrasound as they monitor my situation. Has anyone experienced anything like this or received ultrasound results that indicated “asymmetrical choroid plexus” or “mildly heterogeneous bilateral choroid plexuses”? I am completely confused about what is happening and the doctor has not been very forthcoming with explanations. Internet research only seems to show choroid plexus cysts, but my ultrasound results do not say cysts.
