When does your period return?

I had my first little boy 5 weeks ago and I’m still waiting for my period to start.
Me and my partner have been ‘active’ since having him but using protection as we are aware of the probability of pregnancy just after having a baby. 
Just wondering how long everyone waited until their period returned after having their first baby??

I didn’t get mine until 14 months pp and that’s probably bc I stopped nursing at that time.

With my first 3 I nursed a year and got mine between 4 and 6 months. With my 4th and 6th I got mine around 6 or 7 weeks after. With number 5 I never got a period but a positive pregnancy test at my 6 weeks check up lol. 5 and 6 are 10 months and 1 day apart and full term. We didn't wait and I was nursing and got pregnant just 4 weeks after I had number 5. I love it they are super close. I only nursed for 6 weeks with 4,5,and 6. Now I'm planning on sticking to nursing with number 7. He's 9 days old and doing awesome. So we will see how long it takes to get a period this time. No more babies lol.

You’re supposed to bleed for up to 6 weeks after giving birth, so if you aren’t breastfeeding your period should come within the next month. It’s not recommended to have sex until your doctor clears you because your cervix is still open from giving birth. You’re also extremely fertile afterwards. If you are breastfeeding, it’s a toss up really. I didn’t get mine until a week before my first turned 1.

With my first I didn’t start until 10 weeks PP. I was formula feeding. This time I’m breastfeeding so I’m curious as to when I’ll start. I’m only 2 weeks PP this time around.
