Teen dating help needed

So I’m in yr 9 (14) and I like a guy that in yr 8 (12-13 I’m not to sure on his age) we get on really well in form and he is really funny and sweet he did also admit to my yr 9 friend that is in my form that he tries to make me laugh. But I’m not too sure if he likes me back and is it weird if I go out with someone a yr younger than me. Ik the people in my class will take the piss out of me if I do go out with him but I’m not sure what to do. Does anyone have any advice?
