What to expect with first doctors appointment

Hey ladies! I have my very first pregnancy doctors appointment coming up on Tuesday and was just wondering, what should I expect? What are they going to do? What do I need to bring or wear? What do I need to know? 
I'm pretty sure that i will be about 8 weeks pregnant according to my apps. I've never been to a gyn or anything before! So please help ease my worrying mind some!!!

I don’t know why someone would say not to expect much at your first visit...I went to the doc for confirmation and after it was confirmed that I was pregnant and 5 weeks exactly they scheduled me to come back in 3 weeks for my first official visit. I was told that this would be one of my longer visits and to expect it to be about an hour and half or so. They said I would have my first ultrasound to determine whether my due date was on time or not, check on the heartbeat and measurements of baby and make sure everything else is going as smoothly and healthy as possible. Following would be a prenatal visit with my OB and lastly a nurse will talk to me about insurance and hospital options. I go this Friday and the wait is killlllllllling me, I can’t wait to see my little Toots!🤗

It really depends on your OB and where you’re located. My first appointment consisted of giving urine sample, having a vaginal ultrasound, meeting with the doctor and just discussing basic pregnancy information (eating do’s and dont’s, restrictions, expectations, etc.)

Following!! I think I’m about 7.5 weeks and my first appointment is Tuesday. Idk what they are doing, but I asked if I was getting an ultrasound and they said no 😭😩

Not much at all. Check weight, blood pressure, take about safety etc. that’s really it.

It honestly depends on where you're located. Some give ultrasounds at the first appointment to verify how far along you are and some dont.

Depends on the doctors office some do ultrasounds some don’t. You’ll have your weight taken, blood pressure, a Pap smear and lots of questions about history and the fathers history. Most of this was done with the nurse at my office she gave me a folder of papers and information about medications that are safe to take during pregnancy for multiple things and I was given my scripts to go have my blood work done as well. My office doesn’t do ultrasounds early unless you decide to do genetic testing and are high risk other than that the only scan from my office I have gotten was my anatomy scan at 22 weeks.

Had my first appointment yesterday (6 weeks), but the nurse said it wasn't even a prenatal appointment, just a 'confirmation' appointment. 
All they did was check my weight and blood pressure, and have me pee in a cup to confirm pregnancy (which felt silly, since I've taken like 10 tests at home)
Then we discussed the general things that would be done at future appointments, as well as some insurance stuff I need to figure out (I need to know which hospital is covered by my particular insurance, since my clinic is affiliated with a couple).
It was...pretty boring. I'm excited for the 12 week appointment!

Go with a full bladder. Drink as much water as you can before you go, no peeing!! Save that pee cause it will help see the baby more clearly. Me personally, I would wear something lose for easy access. They will either do abdominal ultrasound or transvaginal so keep that in mind as far as clothes go. Don't worry momma, stay calm.. no stress! No matter what the outcome may be you still have the flo family 💕
