Where will your husband or so stand when you are giving birth?

Heather

This is our only child together and our last because we both have kids from previous relationships. I asked him if he was going to stand up at my head or if he was going to watch her be born. He said he was definitely going to stand up by my head so he could hold my hand and so he doesn’t have to see “all that blood and stretching”. 😂 have you discussed where he was going to stand in the delivery room? Are you planning on videotaping or getting photos?

This is our third child. With our first, he alternated between being up to and then going down there, he definitely saw her come out. With our second, he actually pulled our son out once he got the Ok from our OB. The plan is for him to catch/pull our 3rd child out again. It was an incredible experience for him, especially with bonding with baby. Sure, its not pleasant looking sometimes but at this point, there’s not much he hasnt seen plus it helps him feel more involved.

Oh and I definitely want birth pictures this time. I wanted them with my first two but i asked my partner to take them since i didnt want someone else in there but he ended up getting too distracted and not taking any pictures until after baby was born. This time around, we asked a close friend to take the pictures. I also contacted an actual photographer and she said that she will be too busy to commit to it but that we should definitely contact her when the time comes because she would love to do it if the stars align and it works out.

This is an interesting question! My husband watched all of our children come out. Just his personality- he always wants to make sure everything is ok. This pic is him at the dentist with one of our daughters. Her teeth are perfectly fine, but he HAS to be all in the business. I love him to pieces. 🥰

My husband will most likely passout at the sight of blood. He will definitely be at my head, but I have money on him getting light headed and needing to sit. Hopefully he doesn't full on pass out and hit the floor. He has real thing with hospitals his blood pressure goes sky high. We are working on it.

This is my 3rd baby with my husband. And he stays by my head i think 😂 It happens so fast and all i want to do is get baby out. That i dont notice whats going on. No pics or video taping while im giving birth. Only right after. I dont want to see all the details and sure dont want anyone else to either.

My husband had no choice with my first. They told him to grab a leg and held it for me while I gave birth.

He held one leg and my mom held the other. I assume it will be the same this time.

I was like most first time moms in this discussion saying “he’ll be by my head and definitely not look down there” but ended up as most women here - he had to help the nurses and held my leg and everything so of course he saw the whole thing. But I don’t think it changed his relationship with my privates, if so, only for the better

Im currently 31 weeks with baby number 2 but with our first my husband was convinced by all his coworkers that he did not want to watch what happens during birth unless he wants to be scarred for life (lol men) so he had planned to stay up by my head during everything and then when it came time to push the nurse asled him he he could hold one of my legs... I thought he was going to pass out lol then he asked the nurse if they were going to put a sheet up and shes like no we dont usually so if you feel queasy just stay up by her head and we will get snkther nirse to hold her leg. Hes like no its ok I can do it. Lol he was like a deer in the headlights at first but then he got over it and watched the whole thing and was cheering me on saying oh hes almost here I can see his head lol. So this time around he plans on watching again! Thankfully he didnt feel the same as the bozos he worked with lol he said it was beautiful to watch. I want to watch this time also and have them lower the mirror this time! I didn't with my first
