Do those non slip bath mats actually work?

My 8 month old can sit up fine, with the occasional fall on carpet. But I worry when he’s in the bath because it’s so slippery. He loves splashing and playing with his toys that he slips and if I wasn’t right there holding him he would have fell and hit his head and went under water 😭

I’m so so paranoid. But I don’t want to keep him in the bath seat anymore because I can tell he doesn’t have as much fun as he does when he’s not in it. But it’s hard for me to wash him and everything while holding onto him.

So I’m wondering if they actually work?
