Should men pay for dates? (Specifically in the beginning)

Do you think men should pay for dates, especially in the begging of the relationship? Let’s say like in example maybe the first 6 months of going out.

I’m a firm believer in whoever initiates the date pays for it. However I’m always prepared to split it 50/50. There’s no right or wrong, it’s based on how you were raised and what you believe in

First date? Sure. After that, we split it. I’m a grown adult, and definitely capable of contributing financially to the relationship

I generally do whoever suggests the date pays or if one of us is tight on funds or is having a hard day/week/month then the other one gets it. Completely depends on the relationship though. My one friend refuses to ever pay and says it is strictly the man's job ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
