How long does implantation take?

Does it take a few days for the fertilised egg to implant or a few hours?

Answer

It takes 6-12 days after ovulation for the fertilized egg to implant in the uterus. More than 80% will implant between 8-10dpo.
This is because the egg gets fertilized while still in the Fallopian tubes, which are approximately 4-5 inches long. It takes days for a fertilized egg to make it down to the uterus, where it takes even more time for it to burrow into the uterine lining.

Answer

After your egg releases implantation can happen from 6-12 days post ovulation after implementation it would take 2-3 days to build up enough HcG to get a very faint line. You can’t pinpoint exactly what day implantation happened so my doctor always said it’s best to wait till 14 dpo if you want to test before you period but waiting till your missed period will always give the best results
