Same college as BF

So, I am a senior in high school and my boyfriend graduated last year and is now in first year at college. The college he goes to is fairly small, with a pretty campus, and it’s in a smaller town (University of Montevallo in AL). This is kind of atmosphere I would like to attend college in, but I feel like if I went there (I’m going to major in English), he’s going to think I’m only going there for him?? Every time I mention Montevallo to him he gets defensive and acts like it’s a bad idea for me to go there. I’ve looked into their English program, and have talked to people who have graduated as an English major there and they really enjoyed it. I feel like if I ended up going there he’d get mad at me. Like, he’s not the only reason I would wanna go; it fits what I want in a college. What should I do??? I’m definitely going to apply there along with other colleges (the big ones 🤢).
