Brothers pt.17

Leila was sorely missing James & she wanted him to know that she still loved him. She decided to write a letter to him.

The letter read:

“To The One Who Owns My Heart,

I miss the way your skin feels against my skin. The way you looks at my body when it’s just the two of us in the room. My fingers running through your hair. The way you smell after we’ve made love. The way you caress my body. I miss being in your arms.

After all this time, my love for you only grows deeper & stronger. Always remember that my heart only beats for you.

Only Yours,

Leila”

She gently folded the letter & placed it in an envelope & put it on the highest shelf in her walk-in closet. She went out & about her day. Most of her day was spent wedding planning with her future mother-in-law.

Mrs. Phillips: Darling, what about this color?

Leila had to snap out of her state of fantasy. Between flashbacks & fantasy, James was always on her mind.

Mrs. Phillips: Sweetheart!

Mrs. Phillips waves her hand. Leila is still in lala land. Mrs. Phillips claps her hands. Finally she had Leila’s attention.

Leila: I’m sorry. I probably didn’t get enough rest last night.

The store’s associates & staff made jokes about making love all night to which Mrs. Phillips dismissed & Leila casually smiled at. The workers all left the scene.

Mrs. Phillips: Well, what do you think of this color?

Leila: It’s fine, Mrs. Phillips.

Mrs. Phillips: Darling, please. Call me mom.

Leila: The colors fine, mom.

Mrs. Phillips: I know it’s fine, but I want to know what you think. Do you envision your bridesmaids wearing it?

Leila: Frankly, mom. I don’t even know who my bridesmaids would be.

Mrs. Phillips: You mean you haven’t asked them yet?

Leila: I’ve only been engaged for a week.

Mrs. Phillips: My dear, after a week of being engaged, Mr. Phillips & I were ready to get married. We couldn’t wait & were so excited, adrenaline kicked in & we finished all out planning in 2 weeks.

Leila: That’s good for you, but maybe Vance & I are different.

Mrs. Phillips: Well, you want to get married don’t you? Show some excitement!

Leila: If you like the color than I guess we can go with it.

Mrs. Phillips rings a bell & the associates come back out.

Store Associate: Yes ma’am.

Mrs. Phillips: Can we see this in a burgundy?

Store Associate: Right away.
