How many embryos to transfer?

Hi, everyone, I am scheduled for my FET on the 23rd of December. This is my first frozen transfer. My first ivf cycle ended in August in a miscarriage at 8 weeks with twins. I have 2 more embryos and my dr recommended to transfer both now as per frozen transfer the chances seem smaller for a pregnancy.
But as these are my last embryos I am a little scared to transfer both of them. We did not do any embryo testing as they don't do this as the clinic. I am 37, husband is 36 and we have unexplained infertility. Thank you and good luck to all!

I’m 38 and it was also recommended to have both embryos transferred. I had a FET on Wednesday of 2 embryos. They also have not been PGS tested and I was nervous, but at my age it would be less likely for them both to implant. Good luck with your decision.

I’m 30 years old and just transferred 2 genetically normal embryos. I miscarried with healthy 5 AA embryos twice so we decided on transferring two this time. I’m nervous and excited at the same time since I’m only 5’1 and 105 pounds but ultimately it’s up to you! Good luck

This is interesting. I didn’t have a choice. My doc said that a single embryo transfer was the standard of care and professional guidelines without any reason to suspect it wouldn’t work (eg last failure) so I wasn’t allowed to do 2. Can you discuss the pros and cons with your doc so you can make a more informed decision?

My husband and I have been deciding whether to transfer 1 or 2. We’ve had 2 failed FETs with PGS tested embryos and we have 2 left. With tested, my RE strongly suggest just one but if they were untested she would recommend 2 at my age (also 37).

It's your personal choice so if you're uncomfortable, then stand your ground. That said, I'll be transferring 2 untested blasts on Tuesday. I've transferred 2 every time. If they were PGS tested, I'd only be doing 1 at a home. The one time I got pregnant, only 1 stuck.
