Dock a Tot Safe for Sleeping?

Hi everyone, I know there is a lot of controversy over sleeping overnight in a dock a tot. Currently, I use it with my 5 week old uses it for napping during the day and she sleeps like a dream. At night she’s in our room in a bassinet but does not sleep half as well. Does anyone else have a similar setup? Would you feel safe having your son/daughter sleep in the tot? Even a dock in a crib? Thank you!

Nope. They are not safe for unsupervised sleep and if i remember correctly they even come with a label that says not to use them in a crib or bassinet

A glorified pillow is absolutely not safe for an infant to sleep on. Why risk it?

No I wouldn’t personally just for supervised naps but there are other ways to make her feel more secure and snuggly in her bassinet, I’m not a mama yet (April) so not sure what the rules are as far as sleep sacks or swaddling for a 5 week old.

These are banned in Canada due to several infant deaths. Not approved by health Canada for safe infant sleep. Supervised naps only!! That being said my son has slept with a blanket since day 1.. which is also not recommended.. now he’s 6 months old and he loves having it beside his face. I am fully comfortable with him doing this but I always have a worry in the back of my head!!! But on their website there is all sorts of warnings that this is not a product for sleeping. I personally still wouldn’t use one overnight for an infant, but I would buy the bigger size for older babies. I feel like it would be great for travel.. but I don’t have an option to since they cannot be sold here or shipped! Unless I drive across the boarder but I don’t think it’s that necessary haha

I wouldn’t. We had great success with him sleeping overnight in the bassinet that came with the uppababy stroller. It is a safe sleep option.

My son slept in his dockatot from 3 days old until 6 months for naps and nighttime sleep. He was in our room and stayed in the same position all night until he was rolling on his belly at 6 months.
