I Hate Cooking...🥘 Does this make me a bad wife???

I’m not a cooker, never have been. I know how to cook but I hate doing it. It’s like I’m missing out on other things I could do, and I don’t get enjoyment out of using up hours of my evening just to watch my husband stuff it down in less than 20 minutes. My husband and I bought plants, grass, soil, etc for our backyard for spring last week and he said “why don’t you cook dinner while I plant?” And honestly, I was truly hurt. I wanted to plant not cook. Is it my duty to cook for him? I start work on Monday but haven’t been working while getting through a difficult pregnancy. Kinda been feeling like that’s what my husband is expecting of me and I hate feeling like that’s my obligation as a wife. Am I a bad wife?

Cooking is a skill everyone should use, it’s not about gender roles or your role as a wife. It’s just a necessity to survive if you want to eat something other than junk food or fast food🤷🏻‍♀️ marriage is a partnership, some days you should cook and he wash the dishes and vice versa. Or just cook and clean up together if that suits you. But honestly i think you being mad that he suggest you cool while he plant is just overboard. He didn’t demand you cook, he said it politely. All you had to say was you wanted to help him outside instead and cook after.

Hell no. Cooking for your husband isn’t your duty or job. I also hate cooking. We do HelloFresh 3 times a week and it makes it more enjoyable for me and my SO. Otherwise we make quick meals. We also take turns. Definitely sit down and tell him how you’re feeling!

Nope, I don't cook. My husband cooks. When I cook he thinks he forget our anniversary or something 🤣

I hate cooking too. I feel bad but I use the excuse that I have to feed baby so I won’t have to do it (that’s literally the only thing I like about breastfeeding- excuses to leave the room aha) 🤭🙃 But I do usually stay in the kitchen with him to help with the steps (cooking from a book for meal prep so it’s new stuff)

You’re not a bad wife. Cooking can be tedious. My advice would be to meal prep one day a week so you aren’t spending a lot of time in the kitchen every day. Also you can make really simple meals that are good and require very little effort

I meant to click no. I mean my SO doesn’t cook, his cooking is take out😂 but I don’t care to cook. I obviously will someone has to feed us and our son. but I don’t have the patience and just don’t really enjoy it. So I just make really simple stuff. And I got an instant pot and that’s a lifesaver! Cause it’s hard to have a decent meal with my work schedule too.
