Why would he cheat 😪

Question

I've been with my partner for almost 3 years. 
He has a son to his ex and I treat him like my own. 
I'll buy him things, help him with home work, teach him life skills etc.
I just seen on my partners phone a dating app. 
Why would someone cheat when you give them everything and more 😪
I'm absolutely heart broken.
This is someone I planned on having kids with and we were also looking at buying our own place.
Now it's all for nothing.
What a waste of 3 years.
The thing is I don't know if I can leave. 
We've spent the last 3 year's always together. I've come dependant on him and if we have any time apart I feel lonely and lost. 
How can I move on and end things?
Please no hateful comments, it's hard enough and I really just need support.

A big reason men cheat is because they like talking to new women who don’t know how shitty they are yet. That’s just a fact. You’ve been with him for three years and know his positives and negatives, instead of accepting that that’s normal and even taking responsibility working on the negatives, they wanna sweet talk a new woman so they can feel shiny and new. It’s selfish and shallow. It’s his issue, not yours.

This is my personal opinion and hopefully this will help with your decision. I’ve been in a situation like this before and let me tell you, when you feel like you have lost yourself and that feeling of loneliness comes over you when you are with someone or thinking of leaving someone, it’s time to move on. I’ve learned now that, when you are with someone man or woman, you should both be building each other up and not taking away from each other. You know you deserve better, don’t let the good memories keep you around because then the person that disrespected you in the first place with know if they did it before and you forgave them, it’s excusable behavior. Again, this is my personal opinion and advice. Only you can decide how to move forward from this.

He will cheat because he’s a dickhead. Plain and simple. Its nothing to do with you at all. He chooses to cheat. You haven’t made him do it. He wants to.
