Advice on birth control

Hey guys, I’m new on here, but I need some advice. So before I started dating my now ex bf, my mom made it clear that whenever I was ready I could come to her and ask her about birth control. Well during our relationship, we sexted a lot, but I said I wanted to stay a virgin until I got on birth control. I do want to have sex, but I want to make sure I’m not gonna get pregnant. How do I ask my mom to go on birth control? I know she said it’s cool, but it’s still awkward and I don’t know how to go about it. Thanks!
