Tampons causing intense itching?!?

I’ve been using Tampax pearl for some years now but recently like my last couple of periods I’ve been getting vaginal itch inside during my period. I only used one today it was in for 3 hours I took it out when I showered and I’m itching really bad already!!! But I’ve used these forever. I took 2 doses of antibiotics for yeast infections 2 months ago because that’s what o thought I had. Any experience with a similar situation? Any advice?

Antibiotic helps with bacteria, yeast is a fungus and a fungus is not a bacteria... Just mentioning, that antibiotics kill the good bacteria, that keep the yeast away, so basically any antibiotics use can give you yeast infection or make it more severe. Not treat it. 
So if taking medication I would consult a doctor, because you should treat things with correct medications.
You might be using too large tampons. Drieness and it hing comes from dryness. And if a tampon is too large it dries you out.

Although you've been using them for years remember that they are still treated with chemicals.
You may want to try an organic cotton brand instead.
