Pap while preg for the second time??

Hi ladies! Do you NEED to have a pap EVERY time you get preg?? I had one last year after i had baby #1... everything was normal! Do I still need one this year for my 8 week apt for baby #2? Thanks ladies!!

Depends on your history. My doctor likes me to get one every year because I had a history of abnormal paps years ago, but generally the recommendation is every 3 years.

I just had my baby last year also and have already gotten a pap for this pregnancy. I'm sure you could refuse it if you really don't want it, but to me it was worth it just to make sure nothing's wrong

Nope. Current recommendation is every 3 years as long as results are normal and you don’t have any trouble during the 3 years that could warrant getting another one performed.

No you don’t. I didn’t get one this pregnancy cause I had one last year with my last pregnancy. I think you can wait like 3 years??
