Thoughts on the name Brantley?

So I found this boy name that I really love and it's Brantley. It's an actual name but also the combination of my kids 2 Godfathers as well. So bonus points for it. It means "firey torch or sword" which I really like. I've just received so many negative comments on the name from other baby name boards on different apps. I'm starting to second guess it and I wonder if it even goes with my current kids names, Katelyn and Owen. I know the name has a "harsh sound" to it, but that doesn't bother me too much honestly. I just don't want to pick a terrible name for my kid. TIA

My mind autocorrected the name to Bentley when I read it. Just beware that doctors/teachers/etc will probably make the same mistake when reading his name. Otherwise I like it

I would t really worry about what other leoe think.  The name isn’t one I would use but I am 100 % sure you would not choose the names I have for my children either.  People will always have different opinions and reasons for why they don’t like something.  But if you love it, then go for it honey.

I love this name! Its unique and it has a sentimental value to you and your family. Screw what others think it fits perfect with siblings names. This names been on my list forever but my bf doesn’t like it and I’m so glad it’s on someone else’s!

I think it’s cute. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what other people think. It’s not hard to pronounce & I think it sounds good with the other childrens names as well. I say name your baby whatever you want & the rest of the world can adjust!
