Am I wrong for moving?

I am in a difficult situation where I moved with my boyfriend of a couple months. And now we have an apartment together that’s in my name, we have gotten into many physical altercations where it’s to the point now I feel like it’s emotional abuse every other day. We had a major fight and I found me a new apartment, he says he can’t afford the current place by himself (he told me he makes over $100,000 a year until now) <- which turned out to be a lie but I still proceed with paying for the security deposit on my new place. I told him don’t worry about paying for the rent, find you a new apartment but just pay the light bill he says he doesn’t have it. I tried very hard to stay but it came to the point my daughter heard us physically fighting. Am I wrong for making a sudden move to be out of the relationship? Should I wait 6 months until the lease is over to move?
