Need help!

Hi! My husband and I are TTC for about 9 months now with no luck.  I am not positive I know my ovulation days except for using a few of these apps. Could they be wrong?? How can I tell naturally when I ovulate?  I don't totally understand the whole "egg white" "milky consistency".  Could there be an issue with my body or his sperm?! Ugh a lot of questions I guess...please help!!
